  1. Well what a busy couple of weeks our students have had! With 7 performances over the last few weeks our dancers have danced theyre socks off and built on confidence by performing to crouds in Truro town Centre, Porthleven Village and School, Royal Cornwall Show and the Hall for Cornwall! And there's more yet to come!

But to kick start it all off our first visit was to Porthleven's 'Big Lunch' - held in the Park in the centre of Porthleven on June 1st, this community event is designed to bring people together and we had the fantastic opportunity of holding a workshop for families and friends attending the event and holding a performance with our Porthleven students!

Kids Klub Streetdance, Junior Trix and Breakdance and Junior Hiphop students showed off their moves at the event, and smashed it!! Well done guys, great job on your first performance to the public!!!

The on June 2nd, Cornwall Dance were invited to hold Streetdance Workshop's all day at Portheleven Primary School with over 200 students recieving free streetdance tuition as part of there school day! We had a fanastic time teaching the students one of our routines from our Hall for Cornwall Show 'When I Grow Up' and showing them a few tricks too!

The highlight has to be when we had the entire school in assembly and after wathcing our awesome Porthleven students perform their Hall for Cornwall routine, every student wanted to perform the routine they had learned so the entire assembly stood up and performed it!!! Great fun!

We want to thank Porthleven Primary School for inviting us and thank all the students for having such a fun day with them all!!

  2. Tashan Muir, choreographer and lead dancer of the world known Streetdance Crew UNITY UK, came back to Cornwall Dance School for the second year in a row to do a fantastic day full of workshops for beginners up to advanced Streetdance Students from local schools!

Both groups were taught Tashan's Unistyle Streetdance style, learning routines used in their performances across the globe. Unity Uk are renowned for their performance on Got to Dance 2012 when they allmost walked away the winners of the competition, they then returned the year after to perform as a Supercrew alongside Diversity and Akai.

All of the students involved in the workshop had a fantastic time and came away feeling worked! Tashan encouraged them to follow their dreams and to think outside of the box when it comes to not just performing and competing as a streetdancer but also when it comes to many things throughout life, to not set boundaries but shoot for your goals. That's what we like to hear at Cornwall Dance School and we loved having him down for the second year in a row!!

We have many different Choreographers/Dancers from all styles of dance that we keep in close contact with and hope to be able to offor more workshops like this one to our students in the near future. So watch this space to hear about any new workshop's coming up soon!
